Weekly picks Edition 03
Superpowered streets, rocket football and a patrol above the trenches
Cause chaos in a destructible city, chase a football in a rocket-powered car, or trade the streets for islands and open skies. This weekend’s five picks span sandbox action, sports, exploration and vehicle combat.
These are discovery picks, not scored reviews. These selections draw on player feedback, creator footage and brief availability checks. Over the Lines received a short fresh play check; the Rivas City entry includes Rich’s earlier play experience. The small number of ratings on these games is a useful clue, not a consensus. Recorded plays count game opens, not time played.
How we choose the five
We use recorded play clicks to spot interest, read player feedback and consider the number of ratings behind each average. Direct playtest reports help us understand what works. Rich’s reviews are one voice alongside everyone else’s. We then look for variety and room for less-discovered games, without calling the result a definitive “best games” list.

01 Rivas City: a city built for causing trouble
Rivas City
By Roninteon ↗
Roninteon’s early-development sandbox gives you superpowers and a city you can knock about. Rich’s written Playground review singles out flying around and causing havoc, calling it “an enormous amount of fun”. The creator’s destructible buildings and combat modes give that freedom a clear focus. Try it when you want to experiment with what your powers can do.

02 Soccar One: football with boost and powerslides
Soccar One
By @BlendiByl ↗
Blendi’s car-football fan project replaces running with driving, jumping and boosting into the ball. The creator’s gameplay footage shows the appeal clearly: the challenge is lining up your car as well as your shot. There is a free-play option, and documented controller support covers steering, jumping, boost and powerslides. A good choice for a quick sports break.

03 Stardust Isles: take the slower route
Stardust Isles
Danze Chen’s island adventure offers a change of pace from the other picks: exploration, collecting discoveries, quests and puzzles. The creator’s gameplay footage shows the world in motion, and the English start screen is available without an account. Two players have left ratings on Playground, a small positive signal alongside the appeal of having somewhere new to explore.

04 Claude of Tanks: pick your armour, then your approach
Claude of Tanks
By Kevin Liu ↗
Kevin Liu’s tank game gives you bot battles and multiplayer, with a vehicle gallery and field manual to help you choose a starting point. The creator’s verified gameplay footage shows actual battlefield action, while the manual explains tactical details such as disabling an enemy’s tracks. It has drawn sustained click-through interest on Playground; that makes it worth investigating, without pretending those clicks tell us how long anyone played.

05 Over the Lines: learn to fly before chasing the ace
Over the Lines
By senko ↗
Senko’s biplane game starts with a patrol across the trenches, enemy scouts ahead and an aerodrome where you can refit. A brief check reached the airborne game, with terrain, a target marker and flight instruments visible. The controls include pitch, roll, rudder, throttle and three camera views, while the guns can jam if fired too long. Pick this one when you want something to learn rather than another one-button diversion.
